The LHS Gallery
Yearbooks & Annuals
Our collection of Lyons High School annuals reaches back to the Wire-Grass of 1924 and includes a 1936 annual, the 1949 Leo-Lite, and The Mastiff, which became the school’s annual beginning in 1954.
The Leo-Lite was published in 1949. According to our LHSAA records, LHS did not publish another annual until 1954, when Harry Lane, Class of ’54, submitted the winning name Mastiff in a school competition. The name stuck.
We are grateful to the classmates who helped preserve these volumes, including Billy Aiken, Class of ’49, who loaned his senior Leo-Lite for scanning.
The annuals shown here are those currently preserved in the LHSAA collection. Missing years do not necessarily mean that an annual was never published.
