Booster Stadium: The 2019 Renovation

From preparing the field to opening night.

The old homepage looked ahead to the August 23, 2019, opener against Twiggs County and a different look for the Pit. The work included artificial turf, new aluminum bleachers and walls replacing the slopes behind the end zones.

July 2, 2019. Looking toward the north end zone as the goal post is being erected. The field is being prepped for the artificial turf.

Preparing Booster Stadium for the new turf, 2019.

Pre-fab numbers are sewn into the carpet. No more lining and numbering the field the day before games. The turf is cut out and numbers are laid in place like a jigsaw puzzle.

Finished: “The prettiest little stadium in Georgia.”

Fans pour in with high anticipation on opening night and the opportunity to witness the first game in the new Booster Stadium!

The fans, band, cheerleaders and players anxiously await the countdown for the inaugural kickoff.
